Water Quality Reports

Each year Pocatello and Chubbuck publish information on their water systems. This includes information on source water, the levels of any detected contaminants, compliance with drinking water rules, and educational materials.

Safe to Drink

Based on contaminant standards for public water systems under the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPAs) Safe Drinking Water Act, the municipal water provided by Pocatello and Chubbuck is safe to drink, even though there is known contamination in the aquifer. By law, public water systems must ensure that the water they provide is safe for human consumption and does not create unacceptable risk to human health. Drinking water, including bottled water, may be expected to contain small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk.
