Any Appellant who determines he/she is adversely affected by a decision of the County Board of Equalization has a right to appeal. An appeal may be filed with either the District Court or the State Board of Tax Appeals (BTA). All Board of Tax Appeals Forms must be received by the Clerk within 30 days from the postmarked date of the Statement of Findings. A copy of this form can also be obtained from the County Clerk’s Office at the County Courthouse (624 E. Center Street, Room 211, Pocatello, ID 83201).

The State Board of Tax Appeals (BTA) is a fully independent body separate from the County and the State Tax Commission and is not held to time constraints to hear all appeals; thus all appeals filed with their agency will be heard in Pocatello.  For more information about the BTA, please refer to their website at www.bta.idaho.gov.

The Commissioners will continue to coordinate with the State Board of Tax Appeals and the Idaho State Tax Commission for the benefit of all Bannock County residents and other officials. The Commissioners appreciate the patience and understanding the public has afforded them and County staff throughout this process.
