Juvenile Justice Department Job Openings
NOTICE TO APPLICANTS
We appreciate your interest in applying for a job opportunity with Bannock County Juvenile Justice. Our department provides juvenile justice services to the 6th District Magistrate court in Bannock County. Our mission to the community of Bannock County is to protect its citizens from juvenile crime. We strive to accomplish this by assisting families in developing skills that will enable them to be productive and responsible members of society, and holding youth under our responsibility accountable for their actions.
According to Idaho Rule…., certain positions within our department require the employee to complete a certification process through the Idaho Peace Officers Standards Training (POST) Academy that includes successful completion of a two week Juvenile Probation Basic Academy. Applicants that are required to become certified must meet the following POST standards:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Graduate of a high school, or GED equivalent, or have completed 15 academic college credits.
- Two or more years of responsible work experience following high school graduation.
- Fingerprint clearance by the Idaho State Police/BCI and the FBI. A conviction or withheld judgment for any local, state, or federal crime MAY be grounds for rejection.
- Valid drivers license from the state of residence with no record of habitual violations (five or more) during the three years immediately preceding application to the Academy. No record of suspension, DUI conviction, or withheld judgment during the two years immediately preceding application to the Academy.
- Medical examination completed by a licensed medical physician and the enclosed form filled out within the last twelve months.
- Meet or exceed the POST vision and hearing standards as listed on the enclosed medical form. The POST Hearing Board may grant a waiver for any applicant who fails to meet the above conditions.
A current resume that will become the property of Bannock County must be attached to your application in order to be considered. Your application will initially be reviewed for any area that might automatically disqualify you. If no problems are found you may be interviewed by an oral review board. There will be a minimum one-year probationary period for all employees.
